The connection between Gin and England is very strong. England’s taste for gin became stronger when King William III banned the import of French wine and other liquors, and as a result of which  the gin production soared. Because it was reasonably priced, it became very popular among poor and working class people.  It became extraordinarily popular with the poor and working class. Its demand shot up like anything, coz it was a rage among the poor’s. Then 1739, Gin act was enforced by England that raised the price of gin to a great extent. The price of gin shot so much that poor’s were not able to afford it.

But the common men didn’t like these social experiments of the educated. As a result of which riots broke out and rallies took place. After exactly 3 years, this bill was taken aback by the government and gallons of gin flowed into the glasses of common people.
